Friday evening and saturday will be a chance to learn from those within our community including some of you about living a larger life through this journey we are on towards defining what fitness is and what we find in the process.

Topics covered will include a deeper look into testing vs. training, long term fitness athlete development, a NEW definition of fitness as well as learnings from masters in their respective field of naturopathy, psychconeuroimmunology, business and military through a short TED like approach presentation line up

Here are the experts you'll be learning from:

Dr. Jeoff Drobot

Dr. Drobot is the Medical Director of the prestigious Calgary Centre for Naturopathic Medicine. He is a leading authority in the fields of European Biological Medicine, chronic and autoimmune disease treatments, detoxification, hormonal imbalance correction and customized sports medicine and nutrition programs. His love of medicine has evolved into a vast clinical focus treating men, women, and children from the youngest to the oldest - all of whom benefit from Dr. Drobot's constant quest for knowledge.

He'll be talking about the Neera Cleanse and why a five-day dump is critical to increase your performance. Most people think that the only thing that needs recovery is your muscles. But you'll be shocked to learn that our kind of intense training not only fatigues the muscles, but also other systems in the body.

Dr. Shaun Riddle

Dr. Riddle has focused on developing mentoring relationships with both conventional and alternative medical professionals who are on the cutting edge of age management medicine and chronic disease treatment. This has taken him all over the world in an effort to bring together the most advanced alternative medicine treatments to our patients. His expert use of Regenerative Injection Therapies (Prolotherapy) as a comprehensive approach to treating muscle and joint pain has been used successfully used on both professional and amateur medal-winning athletes to improve their performance.

He'll be talking about gut leakage and how it can interfere with your performance. If your gut can't absorb the nutrients and fuel it needs to help your body, you won't be at peak performance. That's why knowing about gut permeability is critical to improving overall performance and longevity.

 

    Sean Greeley

As a professional Wake Boarder Sean rose to the very highest level, representing team USA at the World Championships in Germany. As a fitness business owner, again, he built a 653-strong client base and a 2-location business in just 3 years, starting from nothing. Sean was also recognized as one of the Top 10 personal trainers in the country during that time.

Today he (and his partner Eric) led a company called NPE (Net Profit Explosion) that supports fitness business owners in all aspects of business growth and development. In 2010, NPE was recognized as #131 on the Inc 500 list (and #16 in the Marketing and Advertising sector) of the fastest growing privately owned US corporations. Sean also co-conducts the Opt Business Systems Module, and is an exclusive coaching client of James.

Sean will talk to you about money and achieving your vision.

 

   Scott Hagnas

Scott is certified as an OPT CCP coach, Performance Weightlifting level 1 coach, American Kettlebell Club coach, Poliquin International Certification Level 1, and a  Biosignature level 1 and 2 practitioner. He has been riding BMX flatland for 26 years and counting and has filmed/produced/edited several series of BMX videos. He formerly competed in bicycle trials, placing second in amateur in the World Championships in 1990.

 He'll be talking to you about "Flow". He'll show you how you can take a recovery day...combine forms of mobility and stability into one session...and have it be a productive workout  that still allows you to improve your fitness and performance.

 

Dr. Dick Thom

 Dr. Thom is a full-time Professor and the past Dean of Naturopathic Medicine at the National College of Natural Medicine (NCNIM) in Oregon. He teaches clinical and physical diagnosis, gastroenterology, neurology, x-ray, practicum and business entrepreneurship. Dr. Thom has been in private practice in Portland, Oregon since 1989.

He is going to talk about the topic of too much exercise and how to monitor easy ways or knowing what is over reaching versus over training from a medical perspective.

 

 

Dr. Mike Molloy

Mike grew up in the New England area and recently moved down to D.C after finishing his Ph.D. at Dartmouth College in Immunology. He currently is a researcher at the National Institutes and an OPT Big Dawg.

Mike's going to explain how your brain and your immune system are intricately linked...and why having a healthy immune system is important to being both HAPPY AND HEALTHY.

 

 

James Fitzgerald

That's me. I'm the guy that paints the picture...I'm the founder of OPT and a full time husband, father, and fitness athlete. I'll be talking about athlete essence and how to run with what you have to work with.

Finally, I'll also talk about long-term fitness athlete development.  You'll learn how to apply sport principles into fitness training for long-term development both in theory and practice.
